MEMBERSHIP

The Hards Family Society is a non-profit making organisation run entirely by volunteers. It is open to anyone who supports its objects. We have members in England, Scotland, and Wales; in Canada, the USA, Australia, and Germany; and we have a large number af family charts, or trees, constructed from details provided by members, and amplified from our official records. Perhaps your family connects with one of them.

Since the Society was formed in 1984 we have built up extensive files of information from official public records. We have on file over 9000 Hard(e)s Birth, Marriage, and Death Register extracts for England & Wales, and nearly 4000 names from Census returns from 1841 to 1891.

Data Protection Act 1984. The mailing list, membership records, family charts, and Newsletter index, are kept on an isolated private, personal computer, not connected to any network. Any members who do not want their own particulars recorded in this way should inform the Society, when they will be recorded manually instead.

If you would like to join the society a minimum subscription of two pounds (overseas £3 surface, £4 by airmail) entitles an individual or family all at one address to receive a copy of each newsletter published. Cheques, in pounds sterling, should be made payable to The Hards Family Society.
